Volunteer Driver

Bishop Auckland

To collect surplus food for use in our projects

Responsibilities

The role will involve driving to a local store/s in the St. Helen Auckland/Tindale Crescent area, collecting food and delivering to our LCBC Community Hub, based in St. Helen Auckland, or registered business address in Bishop Auckland. There is also an opportunity to deliver foods to a local nursery.
Drivers would need their own transport and have a full clean licence. Vehicle insurance should show business use (this should be free to add).

Skills & Qualities

The work does involve some lifting so physically, volunteers must be able to do this.
We do expect volunteers to be courteous and non-judgemental as a representative of our organisation.
They will also need to demonstrate commitment, reliability and consistency.

When & Where?

The role can involve 1 collection a week or more during the daytime.
Days include:
Mondays, 8.00 - 9.30am and 12noon to deliver to a local nursery
Tuesdays, 8.00 - 10.00am
Wednesdays, 8.00am - 10am
Thursdays, 8.00am - 10.00am
Saturdays, 8.00 - 10.am
Sundays, 9.30am - 12noon
Due to the location of the stores and base, the role is suited for those who reside in the Bishop Auckland area.
