Marie Curie Collection Box Coordinators

Peterlee, Lanchester, Seaham, Consett, Langley Park, Chester le Street, Meadowfield, Stanley, Durham City

Our Collection Box Coordinators - CBC’s play a pivotal role in helping to raise funds throughout County Durham for our local nursing service. CBC’s are responsible for placing collection tins in keys areas throughout Co Durham, developing relationships with new businesses, collecting in all monies raised from the tins, counting and banking it and thanking the businesses on Marie Curie's behalf.

We are looking for reliable, trustworthy people who will be our face within the community. As a CBC we would like you to spot key opportunities to place cans within your local area and be that businesses' main point of contact once the can needs to be changed.

Responsibilities

Marie Curie is looking for volunteers across County Durham to look after collection tins and Daffodil boxes, placed in local shops, restaurants, businesses etc.

The new coordinator will visit shops, every 6-12 weeks, to replace tins, checking they are correctly labelled, sealed and secured.

The contents will then need to be counted and banked and each business thanked on the charity's behalf.

In February, the volunteer will place boxes of daffodil pins, in shops, to raise funds for the Great Daffodil Appeal- our flagship campaign.

All money raised will help Marie Curie provide extra care and support, so people in Co Durham living with terminal illnesses and their families can get the most from the time they have left.

This flexible role can fit around your usual activities.

Every £20 raised provides an hour of vital nursing care.
