Scouting Trustee and Member of the Executive Committee ie enormously important advocate for and protector of the group

Executive Committee Members contribute to the running of the Beaver, Cub and Scout Groups by providing administrative support, strategic direction, compliance with relevant legislation and completion of the duties set out in The Scout Association’s Policy, Organisation and Rules.

Responsibilities

We are always interested in an area of specialism or interest that would contribute to the Scout's mission of actively engaging and supporting young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society. To be a full and active participant in Executive Committee meetings and activities.
To uphold the responsibilities of a Executive Committee as outlined in The Scout Association’s Policy Organisation and Rules.
Willingness and eligibility to act as a Charity Trustee for the Group.
Contribute to the strategic aims and future development of the Group.
An understanding of their own role, and the role of others on the Executive Committee.
A commitment to understanding and forming opinions on the key discussion points and responsibilities of the Executive Committee.
Willingness to complete various tasks which support the work of the Executive Committee and the aims of the Group.

Scout Hut HQ in Annfield Plain near Stanley in County Durham.

Other Information

We need new volunteers to support all our Sections as we have a small leadership team of only one Scout Leader / two Cub Leaders / one Beaver Leader and one Beaver Section Assistant. We also have a fabulous parent who helps to maintain the hut and grounds.

We have other roles for adults who prefer to volunteer for Beavers (6-8 years), Cub Scouts (8-10 years) and Scouts (10-14 years).
