Join our Community and Public Programming Team!
Be part of an exciting and dynamic team dedicated to bringing our cultural sites to life. Our goal is to enhance the visitor experience and engage deeply with our local communities through events and activities that are rooted in the rich narratives and history of our venues and collections.

 Volunteering in this team opens up a world of possibilities. Whether you're interested in hosting unique events or helping visitors explore everything we offer, there's something for everyone. If you enjoy variety, meeting new people, and sharing your passion, the programming team is the perfect fit for you!





Responsibilities


- Help run events like intimate concerts, recitals, and musical performances.
- Actively engage visitors through additional activities.
- Support regular arts and drop-in activities.
- Assist with the makers markets at No 42.

• Costume-lovers and ‘Am Dram’ aficionados
• ‘People’ people
• Those who know their way around a PA system
• Closet crafters, painters, knitters, artists of all kinds

• Hot Beverage Distribution Engineers

When & Where?

You choose, we will add all the opportunities to support these activities to your bespoke volunteer page once they are booked, and then you can sign up to sessions.

Training and Support Offered/Expenses

Don’t worry we’ve got you, with a warm welcome and some great training:
You’ll kick things off with a friendly welcome session, a great way to dive into your new adventure.

You will be asked to provide and wear appropriate clothing and footwear, role/activity dependent. The Auckland Project is unable to reimburse travel expenses.
Some roles will be subject to DBS checks  Safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults is a priority for The Auckland Project

Other Information

Volunteers are issued with an unlimited pass to our visitor attractions within Bishop Auckland. Regrettably we can not reimburse travel expenses at this time.
